This reminds me my of my one time visit to a firing range- my lousy earplugs fell during the shooting and I actually screamed because the noise hurt my ears. Cheapskate army- only officers were provided with normal earphones sound dampeners like you see on TV, which one of them clamped on my ears.
Oh man, the one time I was at a firing range the headphones were so dang heavy. And since I was shooting a dinky little .22 everything else sounded so loud. And THEN someone started shooting a crazy modded gun at the end of the range that sounded like bombs going off. I could see the muzzle flash from like 10 stalls down. @.@ I felt so bad for the lady next to it.
